Dissociative Disorder
A type of neurosis where a person’s anxiety is so overwhelming that he tries to "remove" himself psychologically from certain thoughts or situations.
The person tries to cope with the extreme anxiety by "separating" part of himself from the painful thoughts or situations.
The 2 major kinds of dissociative disorders are amnesia and multiple personality.
