Malachite
In the past, malachite was ground into a powder to use as a paint pigment called "Mountain
Green". Malachite receives its name from the Greek word "moloche", which means "mallow" (an
herb), suggesting its leaf green colour. Malachite is found in parts of the Zaandiuml;re, Zambia,
Chile, western Europe, Australia and throughout North America.
