Magnesite
Magnesite is also known as magnesium carbonate. The colour, which may be brown, gray,
yellow, or white, depends on the amount of iron and calcium present (iron and calcium are often
found in magnesite). It is most commonly found in metamorphic rock environments. Substantial
amounts of magnesite are located in China, Poland, and Greece. This mineral is exploited for its
magnesium content.
