Azurite
Chemically known as basic copper carbonate, azurite is an azure-blue mineral that is associated
in nature with malachite, another carbonate mineral. This mineral is found in small quantities in
copper deposits around the world; Australia and southwestern Africa have fine azurite crystals.
Azurite is mainly mined for use as a decorative stone.
