Shown here are various calcite crystals. Calcite (Calcium Carbonate) is the most common of all carbonate minerals. Calcite is usually white, but also occurs in various colours such as grey, yellow, and pale blue. The gemstone onyx is coloured calcite. Calcite occurs in many different environments, and is associated with a variety of minerals.
