Howlite
Howlite (hydrated calcium silico-borate) is a smooth, white mineral. It occurs in sedimentary
rock environments where other borate minerals are found. Discovered in Nova Scotia, Canada,
howlite is abundant in California, USA. It has no industrial purposes, but is mined for use as an
ornamental stone.
