Sago Palm
Sago Palm Cycas revoluta is a living example of the ancient Cycads.
It is a slow growing plant that reaches a height of a little more than 3
metres. Its leaves can be 2 metres long and they are used as ceremonial
"palms". The pithy stem can provide a source of starch and it is used to
make sago. Despite its common name this species does not belong to the Palm
Family.
