HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Order Cycadales

Male and female Cycads Cycads are primitive seed plants that were once growing in profusion all over the world. Most species are now extinct but a few of their descendants remain. They probably evolved from ancient "seed-ferns" that flourished 500 million years ago. Cycads grow in sub-tropical regions including Australia. As in the Ginkgos, male and female plants are separate and the male pollen produces a swimming sperm cell. [CH] {EN}
