Record-holding Conifers
The oldest living things are coniferous trees; some
redwoods of western North America are over a
thousand years old and bristlecone pines which grow in
California's White Mountains can be as much as 5000
years old. This group can also claim the biggest
living organism in the world; a giant redwood is
much bigger than a blue whale.
