Family Pinaceae
In the Pine Family there are about 200 species which
are widely distributed
throughout the world. Pines form vast forests in North
America where their
wood is used for timber and for paper-making. Most
members of the Pine Family
are evergreen trees with simple needle-shaped leaves
which are well adapted
to survival through cold winters.
