Kahili Ginger
Kahili Ginger Hedychium gardneranum grows in India.
It has underground stems (rhizomes) which look a bit like
the ginger root. The flowers grow in large spiral clusters
and they have a wonderful sweet perfume. About 50 species
of Hedychium grow in tropical regions and are used in
Hawaii to make leis.
