Tea
Tea Thea sinensis belongs to a group of tropical
shrubs and it probably originated in China. Its leaves
have been used since prehistoric times as the source of
a beverage which contains the stimulant caffeine. The
leaves also contain tannin which gives tea its colour and
its bite. The plant is evergreen and the youngest leaves and
buds from the tips of the stems produce the best tea.
The flowers of the tea plant are single white blooms and
the fruits contain three large seeds.
