Ringneck Snake
The Ringneck snake is a very shy snake. Seen here in this photograph, the snake is in a defensive position, with body
tightly curled and coloured underside exposed. The underbelly may be orange or red, while the uppersurface
ranges in colour from olive to black. This small and slender snake, reaching no more than 76cm, also has a
distinctive ring around its neck.This species may be found in a variety of moist habitats from Nova Scotia
south to Florida, and as far west as Mexico.
