Pilot Fish

The pilot fish is so named for piloting, or perhaps more appropriately, accompanying large sea creatures such as sharks, whales and rays. What is gained by this continual accompaniment in unknown. This relationship is further complicated by the fact that pilot fish are known to accompany large ships for great periods of time as well.
