Dragonet
Dragonet, which means 'baby dragon' in Medieval English, is a fish with brilliant colours and
appearance. The male has rainbow colours, flat belly, rounded back and large pectoral, dorsal and
anal fins. The female looks similar but is not quite as beautiful as her dragon-like partner. Ranging
in size from 11 to 30 cm they are found on the seabed of temperate and tropical seas. Dragonets feed
on creatures of the sea floor such as worms and mollusks.
