Scad
Scad are very similar in appearance to mackerel. They have silver flanks, white belly with a soft
bluish or green tinge on the back. They reach lengths of 27 cm. Scad are harvested in several
European countries and are a popular fish food. Schools of scad are eaten by many predators. Scad
are found primarily in European waters, including both the Black and Mediterranean Seas.
