Rat
There are 2 species of rat known as the common rat and the ship rat. Differing primarily in size,
the common rat is larger than the ship rat, measuring approximately 9 1/4 inches, including the
length of the tail. The ship rat has larger ears, a longer and more slender tail and less shaggy fur.
Both species of rat range in colour from brown to black; specially bred laboratory rats are
albino. The common rat and the ship rat are found in every part of the world. MORE!
