Muskrat
Muskrats
are large voles, reaching approximately 9 to 12 inches in length, with an additional 7 to 11 inches
of tail. The fur of the muskrat is rich, soft and thick which makes it quite valuable. Ranging in
colour from black to silvery brown, there is a large market for muskrat pelts. The muskrat is a
water loving mammal and has partially webbed hind feet, waterproof fur and an almost furless
tail which acts as a rudder. MORE!
