Rice Rat
There are approximately 100 species of rice rats. These small mouse-like rodents range in size from
3.5 to 8 inches, with an additional 4 to 9 inches of tail. A relative of the vole family, the rice rat
shares characteristics such as a blunt muzzle, small eyes and small, furless ears. The fur on the
rice rat is course and ranges in colour from grey-brown to soft brown, with whitish underparts. MORE!
