There are more than 30 breeds of domesticated cat. The most typical cat is short haired, measuring 2 1/2 ft in length, including a 9 inch tail. The most common cat is known as a tabby cat, easily distinguished by dark stripes and patterns. Other variations of cat include the long haired Persian, the elegant Siamese, known as the sacred temple cat of Thailand and the tailless manx cat which was probably bred in Japan. MORE! [BM] {FW}
