Raven
Ravens are the largest of the crow family. They are 25 inches in length and are covered by
inky black plumage. These large and powerful birds are considered by many the most
intelligent of all birds. A sure sign of their intelligence is their playfulness. Pulling
one another's tail, passing sticks and rolling pebbles in their claws as they lay on their
backs are only a few of the playful antics of the raven. Ravens are true scavengers,
commonly eating carrion. The raven can be found in North America, Europe, northern Africa,
Asia and Greenland.
