Fodi
There are 5 species of fodi. Like other members of the family Ploeidae, the fodi make
spherical, woven nests. Using grasses and other fibres the nests are carefully woven
together and often hang, suspended from a leaf or reed. Fodis are found only on islands in the
eastern Indian Ocean, including St. Helena, Mauritus, Aldabra, Seychelles and Madagascar.
Several species of fodi have bright plumage of red or yellow.
