HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Cowbird

Sorry, No Picture! Cowbirds are found only in the Americas. The brown-headed cowbird is perhaps one of the most common birds found in North America. About 7 inches in length, the common cowbird has a brown head and blue-black plumage on the body. On a warm, late summer, Canadian afternoon it is not uncommon to see a flock of cowbirds descend upon a corn field. Eating the ripening crops, these large flocks can be quite a nuisance to farmers.
