The 22 species of bustard have large, stout bodies, short, strong legs and can weigh up to 32lbs, with a wingspan of 8ft. These ground birds are able to run quickly and live in open country, such as deserts and plains. They have dull grey or brown plumage marked by white and black. Bustards are a common game bird.
