The plumage of the stilt is black and white. They live in swamps, quiet rivers and shallow lakes where they wade through the waters in search of food, on their extremely long, slender legs. The pink legs of the stilt move in long, graceful strides. Stilts can be found in Australia, Africa, Europe, Asia, New Zealand, South America and the United States. There are 2 species of stilt.
