Fowler's Toad

Fowler's toad reaches lengths up to 7 cm. The skin is softly warted and is yellowish or green in colour. The muzzle is quite unique as it projects slightly beyond the upper lip. This toad is commonly found on sandy beaches where it is able to burrow underground to spend the daylight hours. Fowler's Toads can also be found in woods and fields where the ground is soft. This nocturnal amphibian is rare in Ontario. [BM] {EB}
