Backswimmer
(Order Hemiptera )
This interesting little insect moves about its water habitat using 3 pairs of legs as oars. By floating on
its back the Back Swimmer primarily uses one pair of limbs to propel itself in a quick, jerky motion
through calm waters. When the Backswimmer is disturbed it dives below the surface and can stay
submerged for as long as 6 hours! MORE!
