Creative Mayans

The Mayan were an inventive and creative people who had an amazing skill with numbers. Mayans calculated the length of one year to within seventeen seconds of its actual length. Mayans played a sport called pok-a-tok, a ball game with two teams which combined features of soccer and basketball. Some of the great stone ball courts were over five hundred feet long and over two hundred feet wide. Sometimes the losers were sacrificed. [RB] {GC}
