In the 8th century the Indus Valley fell to Muslim invaders. Throughout the middle ages Pakistan was divided & controled by various powers. In 1526 Pakistan was reunited when the conquests of Babur established the Mogul empire. By 1857 British rule had spread through India & moved into the Indus Valley. It was not until 1947 that the British withdrew from India. At this time Hindus & Muslims fled for safety among their own kind. Muslims gathered in the Indus Valley, while Hindus gathered in India.
