Ancient Pakistan
Agricultural
settlements arose within the fertile Indus River
valley by 3000 BC. By 2500 BC large &
powerful cities of Harappa & Mohenjo-Daro were founded. Pakistan was overthrown
in 1500 BC
by Indo-Europeans. The Indo-Europeans introduced Brahmanism, which led to Buddhism, Jainism
& Hinduism
in the early centuries AD. In 350 BC Pakistan was ruled by the empire of
Alexander the Great & then by the Mauryan empire
of Asoka.
