Royal Palm Roystonea regia is a tropical American species and it is grown as an ornamental tree. Its smooth, tall trunk is pale grey rather like the colour of concrete. The flowers are small and white and the fruits are purplish-black with small seeds. This palm formerly called Oreodoxa, was renamed for the American general, Roy Stone. [CH] {EN}
