Water Plantain Alisma plantago-aquatica grows in marshy ground and shallow water. It has long-stalked, parallel-veined leaves and large loose flowering stems with whorled branches and small white flowers. The parts of the flower are in threes, as they are in most Monocotyledons and they look like small versions of the Arrowhead flower. [CH] {WO}
