Tomato
Tomato Lycopersicon esculentum like its close
relative the potato, originated in the Andes region.
There are many varieties of the cultivated tomato and the
juicy fruits are full of vitamins and minerals which make
them a valuable source of food. Tomato plants have
hairy branching stems which tend to sprawl if not
supported. The leaves are divided into toothed or lobed
leaflets and the flowers have their stamens joined to
form a long narrow cone.
