Lilac
Lilac Syringa vulgaris is a shrub or small tree with opposite leaves
and sweet-scented blossoms. It originally came from Europe but is
cultivated widely as a garden shrub and makes an attractive hedge. The
four-petalled flowers are purple or white and massed in blossoms that
perfume the air in the early summer. There are about 30 species of
Syringa in Asia and Europe.
