Family Nymphaeaceae
The Water-lily Family has species that grow in still or
slow-moving waters and most have long-stalked, waxy-coated,
plate-like leaves that float on the surface. The plants
have creeping rhizomes that root in the mud and these are
a source of food for fish and wildlife.
