HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Order Dipsacales

Close-up of Valerian flowering head Order Dipsacales is thought to be fairly highly evolved as it shows some advanced features like irregular petals, and fewer stamens than petals in a flower. Most species have leaves that grow in opposite pairs or in whorls on the stem. There are four families: the Honeysuckle Family (Caprifoliaceae), the Teasel Family (Dipsacaceae), the Moschatel Family (Adoxaceae) and the Valerian Family (Valarianaceae). Valerian is used in folk medicine and its flowers are shown here. [CH] {EN}
