HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Desert Cacti

SAGUARO COUNTRY Cacti show many adaptations to living in desert regions where every drop of water has to be conserved. The roots of cacti may spread over a wide area to absorb as much water as possible after a rainstorm or the roots may be thickened to store available water. The stems are thick and succulent and they are coated with a waxy substance to help prevent water loss. [CH] {CA}
