Family Cactaceae
The Cactus Family (Cactaceae) evolved fairly recently
in the Americas and cacti that are found in other parts
of the world were probably introduced, maybe by migrating
birds which had eaten the seeds and deposited them
elsewhere. Cacti probably evolved from an ancestor of
the Rose Family as the two families have similar
flowers.
