Cabbage
Cabbage Brassica oleracea var. capitata is cultivated as a food
plant for humans and animals, and the leaves are the part that is eaten.
There are many varieties which may be green or red, and smooth or wrinkled,
as in the Savoy Cabbage. The ancestor of cabbages was probably a wild
species native to the coasts of Europe.
