Broccoli
Broccoli Brassica oleracea italica and Cauliflower have immature
flowers that are eaten as vegetables. The flowers are massed in thick
succulent heads which are harvested when they are young and still in bud.
If allowed to mature the broccoli plant produces bright yellow flowers
which are no longer good to eat. Broccoli is a hardier plant than
cauliflower and so is easier to grow and cheaper in the market.
