Tubular Fungi
Phycomycetes (tubular fungi) are perhaps the most
primitive of the true fungi. The mold you see growing
on bread, rusts and mildews all belong to this group.
Most species have tubes of protoplasm (hyphae) without
dividing cell walls and many nuclei distributed
throughout the cytoplasm. Some Phycomycetes live as
parasites on other living things.
