Northern Brown Snake
This rather dull snake is characteristized by a very soft brown pattern running the length of the body.
There are darker bars in the head region. The Northern Brown snake is quite small reaching no more than
53cm in length. Usually found in moist areas, or near water the range of the Northern Brown snake extends
from Maine and Quebec, south to Virginia. In the winter large numbers hibernate together, thus conserving
body heat.
