Worm Lizard
Worm lizards reach 1 to 2 ft in length and
closely resemble earth worms. They have long slender bodies and scales arranged in rings
which emulate the segments on an earthworm. They have very small eyes and only one species has
any form of limbs. The lose of limbs and the rounded body are adapted to equip this lizard in its
underground habitat. They are found in tropical and subtropical countries on both sides
of the Atlantic.
