There are some 100 species of Cichlid. This fish is one of the most abundant and hardiest fish. Found in Africa, Israel, Jordan and Syria cichlids are a popular fish food. So hardy, it has been introduced in many areas around the world to provide food for the people. Most grow to lengths of 20 to 30 cm.
