Sorry, No Picture! The aye-aye is a rare and peculiar animal. Although the aye-aye looks rather like a squirrel or cat, this little mammal is classified as a primate. The closest relative of the aye-aye is the lemur. The aye-aye is considered a primate because it has opposable thumbs, a large, flat nail on the big toe and skull characteristics common to primates.
