Each spectacled bear has unique markings on the fur. Both the white facial markings and white markings found on the chest differ from one animal to the next. These individually characterized animals are almost entirely vegetarian, feeding on leaves, roots and fruit. This curious bear is the only bear found in the tropics of South America. [BM] {FW}
