Once springboks were so numerous they would migrate across southern Africa in herds numbering 8,000 individuals. Today, although still abundant, their numbers have decreased through hunting. Huge migrations no longer occur as there is no demand for an increased supply of food. The last migration occurred in 1896. It must have been a wondrous sight. MORE! [BM] {FW}
