One of the parrots found in the Australian region is known as the cockatoo. The cockatoo has become a very popular pet. They are quite beautiful with crested head and large bill. The plumage of the cockatoo is usually white. However, colourful variations do occur. In the wild they mass together in flocks of many thousand. These flocks inhabit forested areas where they have a ready supply of fruit, insects and seeds. Cockatoos nest high in the canopy. [BM] {FW}
