Flycatcher
There are approximately 110 species of flycatchers. All share the common characteristic of a
broad bill with which to snap up flying insects. Being insect eaters, they are related to
thrushes and warblers. The various species differ considerably in colour of plumage and
structure. In general, flycatchers are strong fliers, have weak feet and have stiff bristles
which surround their beaks. Flycatchers are found in Europe, Africa and Asia.
