Goldcrest
The goldcrest is a small bird, approximately one sixth the weight of a house sparrow. The
plumage of the goldcrest is dull green highlighted by a warm yellow patch with black bars on
the centre of the crown. The goldcrest has a plump, rounded body and sharp bill. Goldcrests
prefer coniferous forests, where they can be seen moving very quickly between trees in
search of insects and larvae. The goldcrest is found in parts of Europe, America and Asia.
